QUARTER-FINALS AT SIGHT

During this week we have watched the best and the worst of the FIFA World Cup South Africa 2010.

The round of 16 has relegated teams which power and tradition in football hasn't reached the level of contenders to the championship.

Teams like Mexico, South Korea, Slovakia, Japan, USA, England, Portugal and Chile showed that it is needed something else but, hiring expensive coaches, having players in the best clubs of the world or managing the best organized leagues.

They were not bad teams, but in a World Cup, it is not enough being a "good" team, it is required to be extrordinary in many aspects of the game.

Some fans would like to blame referees (whose performace was really bad) of their teams elimination. However, it was the lack of ideas, technic, even character, what made them vanish in front of the doors of the next stage.

The good news are that great games will be played in the quarter-finals. Let's check:

Argentina vs Germany (they played two World Cup Finals in 1986 and 1990), Brazil vs Netherlands (they have played in quarter ans semifinals many times, 1998, 2002), Spain vs Paraguay (Spain is looking for semifinal for first time since 1962) Uruguay vs Ghana (Uruguay want to tie what they did in 1970).

So, get ready, because it's SHOWTIME
